WHEN | Saturday June 13, 2026, 12-5pm
WHERE | UCL Wilkins Building
ADMISSION | Free
The Fish Floor will participate in the first-ever Faculty of Life Sciences Science Fair at UCL, a free, family-friendly public event celebrating the science that shapes our lives.
We invite you to come and meet zebrafish, the swimming hero scientists use to learn how the brain works, and how tiny embryos develop.
WHAT TO EXPECT
“A window into Life: From cells to swimming zebrafish”
Visit the zebrafish stall and watch life happen in real time under the microscope! The exhibition will showcase the breadth of fish floor research spanning from development and genetic analyses of disease to circuit neuroscience and behaviour.
Our stand will feature a microscope display with larvae at different ages to watch cells divide in real time, hearts beating and little baby fish swimming. In addition, it will include fun facts about zebrafish, colouring pages for children and a presentation with zebrafish UCL images to highlight the diverse and interdisciplinary approaches fish floor scientists implement to understand life.
** All activities are designed to be engaging, informal and accessible – no prior science knowledge required.
We cannot wait to welcome you and share a fin-tastic science day! 🐟 🔬
