The UCL Zebrafish Facility is beginning its own health monitoring programme, which has its roots in the body condition scoring system.  Thus far, a combination of PCR and qPCR tests have been used to identify Mycobacterium spp. 

The overall aim of having an in-house programme is to help achieve an accurate colony health status and health report.  In future, this information can be used to increase the quality of health information exchange of zebrafish strains between facilities.
